Built in 1774, Dar Ben Achour represents the figure of « learning and transmission of knowledge ». It is recognized that the Ben Achour family brought educators, lawyers … to Tunisia. With several transformations, the residence has a mixed architecture, Andalusian, Ottoman and Italian. Converted into a bookshop, it will undergo further adaptations in the year 2000, led by the ASM, in order to better adapt the library to the needs of the researchers and pupils/students who visit it.
