INTERFERENCE Artists’ Lab
From September 19 to October 10, 2020, INTERFERENCE hosts an artists’ lab to explore architecture projections in the Medina of Tunis. It is a series of activities that are open to artists, designers, and all kinds of creatives who wish to experiment with digital projections. The artists’ lab is headed by the INTERFERENCE artistic directors curator Aymen Gharbi and Bettina Pelz, jointly with media artist Lorenz Potthast.
The focus of the artists’ lab is the development of projections responding to facades in the Medina. The workshop is open to creatives that want to explore the digital tools to work on the projected image in public space. Prior experiences are not expected nor needed, but very welcome.
The artists’ lab results in two public viewings, one in Tunis on 2 / 3 October 2020, and later in the year in Bremen (Germany). All participants selected for the public viewing will be expected to be onsite to share info and experience with the local neighborhood as well as with the general audience. The opening event will be planned jointly.
The INTERFERENCE Artists’ Lab is part of the program DIGITAL SHIFT that INTEFERENCE co-hosts with the DIGITAL IMPACT LAB in Bremen (Germany). It is funded by “ifa Synergy”.
