We hope that we can work this year with the German artist Kurt Laurenz Theinert.
Light and image in photography, geometries of light and space in installations, kinetic experimentation with light, form, and color: The interaction of light, space, color, and movement are the common thread in the artwork and performances of Kurt Laurenz Theinert.
Theinert’s body of works includes photography, installation, and performance. While internationally known for the audio-visual performances with the “Visual Piano”, his experimental photographic series, his spatial interventions with luminescent strings, or his fog projections are rarely on display.
LIGHT AS ARTISTIC MATERIAL
“My understanding of light is rooted in photography _ all processes of photography are light-related and they have changed my understanding of the visual. The deeper my understanding became, the more I wanted to share this experience – the process of appearing and disappearing or “happening” – with others, with artists and curators, but also with an attentive audience”, says Laurenz Theinert.
WORKING IN TUNIS
Laurenz Theinert has supported the INTERFERENCE initiative from the beginning. In 2016, he performed with the “Visual Piano” at Place Romdhane Bay in the Medina of Tunis.
